Had to take the opportunity to drive around in the snow of this unplowed parking lot last night!

For this one, I don't think I had fully turned off traction control. Some of the unrecorded stuff was a lot better. This was my first time ripping around in the STi in relatively deep snow. You can sort of see how deep it was when we started.

my parents 2001 Outback has no Traction control, and is incredibly fun in the snow. Only has half the power of that thing but can do some proper drifts in the white stuff.

Last year I put the STi in storage during winter and was driving a '98 Outback Sport. It was a 5-speed with Bugeye WRX front seats and various suspension/sway bar upgrades, with a 2.5RS front bumper. I think I had way more fun in that thing ripping around all winter than I do now in the STi (even though it has four times the power) - probably because of the "don't care as much" factor about breaking something!

Posts like this ^ make me really consider selling my Audi and picking up a cheap outback sport / imp hatchamawagon and hooning without a care. Sure I hoon about in the Audi, but there's just something about a cheap awd car that is so much fun to slide around in the snow.

I'd think that if it was still your primary driver (maybe?) you'd still have to take caution on not beating it up too bad. Perhaps Audi + a Hoonmobile for those extra fun times would be best? :)
